Students will individually work online, researching a topic, following a specific set of directions designed to walk students through the narrowing down process. 5. Students will gather information on the research process and the topic, and make notes on the topic researched. Culminating Activity 6. Students will complete a post-assessment.
Pre and post assessment : Students will complete both assessments. Due to our school computer lab being unable to support 17 students online at the same time, my class had great difficulty at first. Additionally, my directions were more suited for a PC than a MAC. We adjusted accordingly and then finished up in pairs in the classroom. Once students got online, they were very competent in researching. They needed little if any help from me in the classroom. I have since given them other opportunities for research online and they have performed admirably. Because this is not a graded assignment, there are no real scores to post. Holistically, the students knew little going into the project and now are able to access information online. Introductory Activity
