The Progressive Era (1900-1917) was a dynamic period in America history. Urban middle class reformers, motivated by fears that big business, corrupt politicians, and deteriorating cities were threatening the survival of democratic

This 3 day lesson introduces students to a wide variety of primary source materials, including essays, articles, speeches, editorials, and cartoons of the day, as well as the works of contemporary reformers.
