This is a SDAIE lesson plan for use with English as a Second Language students. It based on the book A New Coat for Anna by Harriet Ziefert. It is about a young girl in Europe during World War ll who needs a new coat. It talks about the process she and her mother go through in obtaining the new coat. It is a great way to teach children about the process of making a piece of clothing, from obtaining the source of material to sewing it. It also can be used as a springboard to talking about World War ll. Insert a brief overview of your lesson plan. Remember teachers are your target audience on this page. You might want to edit this section after you have finished designing your lesson. At that time you'll have a better idea of your lesson plan highlights.
