Read a Passage from Dr. Seuss Hooray For Diffendoofer Day! with some help from Jack Prelutsky & Lane Smith

Introduction
The pressure is on for students to perform on standardized tests. Like it or not, this pressure will be here for a long time. The name of the test may change but the concept of student achievement and accountability will remain.   This site is designed to assist administrators in the collection of demographics and teachers as they plan lessons and expose students to standardized test formats. The ideas are both general and specific. They reflect my personal experiences as well as tips from the "experts".

STANDARD FOR ASSESSING STUDENT LEARNING
Teachers establish and clearly communicate learning goals for all students. Teachers collect information about student performance from a variety of sources. Teachers involve all students in assessing their own learning. Teachers use information from a variety of ongoing assessments to plan and adjust learning opportunities that promote academic achievement and personal growth for all students. Teachers exchange information about student learning with students, families and support personnel in ways that improve understanding and encourage further academic progress.

Key Element: Using the results of assessments to guide instruction.
