11.9 Students analyze United States foreign policy since World War ll., in terms of : 
       1. the establishment of the United Nations and International Declaration of Human Rights,IMF, the World Bank, and Gatt, and their importance in shaping modern Europe and maintaining peace and international order

10.9 Students analyze the international developments in the post-World War ll world, in terms of:

Instructional Objectives
The Students will:

    1.) after viewing the United Nations web site,  identify the six major organs of the Unitied Nations-- General Assembly, Security Council,  Economic and Social Council,  Trusteeship Council,  International Court of Justice, Secretariat and write  one paragraph about each organ showing understanding of its purpose and origination
    2.) prepare a class presentation with one other person demonstating the purpose, origination, and future of one organ of the United Nations
    3.) after viewing About the U.N. table of contents,  find, read, and write a one page summay for each of the following areas:
               1.)the History of the UN as it relates to General History, 
               2.)Milestones,  and 
               3.)Major Achievements. 
     4.) develop skills for searching and accessing information related to the United    Nations and its various organs, organizations and members. 
     4.) compare the structure (organs) of the United Nations to the structure of the United States government 
Student Activities

Introductory Activity

Students will identify the six major organs of the Unitied Nations. 

Enabling Activity(ies)

Students will then prepare a class presentation with one other person. 

 Culminating Activity
When student partners  finish their research they will write a paper about the United Nations ( LINK THIS TO STUDENT ACTIVITIES) . Included in that paper will be a history of the United Nations, U.N. acheivements, and milestones. 

Students will then present to the class an oral summary of their findings (LINK THIS TO THE RUBRIC).
