Introduction
Tacky
is a unique penguin who delights and entertains young children.
The
first story in theme one of the Houghton-Mifflin reading series is Three
Cheers for Tacky. In January I will revisit
this story and read the book Tacky the Penguin by Helen Lester to
my class as well as a variety of books on the topic of emperor penguins.
After the read alouds my students will use a graphic organizer to write
their information about emperor penguins. The culminating activity will
be a written page incorporating their ideas.
