Introduction
     This lesson is designed to introduce English Language Learners to Latin and Greek roots, prefixes and suffixes.  These are usually presented in the regular English classes and this lesson will assist in the transition for this student population.

Enabling Activity(ies)
In this activity, the students will design cards that are divided into four parts.  The four parts of the card will contain the following: 

Section 1.  The root and its definition, i.e.  uni = one.

Section 2.  The root represented by a word and the word's definition, i.e.  unicycle = a one-wheeled cycle, (not a bike).

Section 3.  The word used in a sentence, i.e.  [A unicycle is most often ridden at a circus.]

Section 4.  A picture or image to represent the word, i.e.
