Activities
Day 1
We'll play a game. Before we play the game, we'll take a pre-test on Funbrain. Then we'll listen to a story about the Bald Eagle and you'll read about the Bald Eagle in our Social Studies book. Next you'll make up Who, What, Why, Where, When and How questions about the Bald Eagle. Finally, Mrs. Brown will divide you into teams. Your team will ask other teams questions. Your team gets a point if you stump another team, but the other team will get the point if  they correctly answer the question. Each team takes turns asking and answering questions. The winner is the team with the most points after 20 minutes of playing time.
Now, to take the pre-test, double click on the blue underlined word below "Funbrain." Go to "Student Login." Remember that our class secret word is "quiz_fun." Follow the directions for a student.

Day 2
Look at the various books, magazines and papers about monuments in the U.S.A. Be ready to write down your top three choices that you'd like to research. When you write them down be sure to number your choices 1, 2, or 3.

Days 3-5
After Mrs. Brown tells you which topic you will be working on, you may start researching. When taking notes, please remember to write down where you are getting your information.  If you find a picture in a book you want to use for your hyperstack , use a post-it note to mark the page and give the book to Mrs.Brown. She will scan it for you. If the picture is on the internet, ask Mrs.Brown to copy it while it is on your computer screen.

Days 6-10
Time for Hyperstudio fun. Make 5-6 cards with buttons. Be sure to connect the button to the next card. Decide where to divide the information. Make an introduction card with a title and your name(s). Put a picture on at least 4 of the cards. Then type the information onto the cards. Be sure to include your sources at the end of your stack.
 
 
 

Final

Day 11
 Present your finished hyperstack to the class and try to answer any questions people have. When everyone has presented, take your posttest on funbrain. Remember  to go to "Student Login" and our secret word is "quiz_fun." Double click on this underlined blue word to take your test.    funbrain.
