Algebra II is a college-prep math course designed for students that successfully completed Geometry. The students study higher level concepts of Algebra and Trigonometry. The successful completion of this course will meet the pre-requisite for Pre-Calculus. Subject : Algebra II Algebra II: Standard 9.0 Students demonstrate and explain the
effect that changing a coefficient has on the graph of quadratic
functions; that is, students can determine how the graph of a parabola
changes as a, b, and c vary in the equation y = a(x - b)^2 + c After completing this lesson the students will be able to (a) write the equation of the quadratic function by studying the graph and (b) be able to graph different quadratic functions where the coefficients a,b,and c vary in the equation y = a(x - b)^2 + c (c) be able to explain the effect that changing a coefficient has on the graph of quadratic functions Insert brief summaries of your introductory, enabling, and culminating activities. Insert links to online resources in your text and insert links to activities on your student lesson web site. Introductory Activity The students will review graphing quadratic equations using graph paper and pencil. The students will graph quadratic equations of the form y = a( x - b )^2+c.
