Welcome
Do you remember the story abut a race between a Hare and a Tortoise? Do you know what kind of story that is? Sure, it's fiction (not a true story), but it's also known as a Fable.
Fables are stories in which the main characters are animals that talk like people. The animals in the story usually face some kind of problem or conflict that must be resolved (fixed).
Most importantly, a Fable teaches a lesson called a moral. The moral is stated at the end of the fable. Do you remember what the moral of the story was in
"The Hare and Tortoise"?

Your Mission
Your task (job) is to do each Activity so that you will be able to:
1. Identify characteristics of a typical fable.
2. Explain what a moral is.
3. Write a rough draft of your fable on a computer using a word processing progam.
4. Print out your finished fable after editing your rough draft.
