Algebra 1 Standards is a new class in our district. It is designed to be a 2 year course that covers the material in Algebra 1 plus a unit of basic geometry. This course will fulfill the Algebra requirement for graduation and is worth 20 credits. After completing this course, students must take a minimum of one (1) college-prep (A-F requirement) mathematics course. The target audience is students who are "algebra ready" but need additional time to comprehend the curriculum. Subject: Algebra 1 Standards Topic: Linear graphing and solving for the x and y intercepts Grade Level: 9-12 (hopefully 9th!!!!) Student Lesson name and URL: http://www.cde.ca.gov/board/pdf/math.pdf Instructional Objectives After completing this lesson, students will be able to: a. algebraically solve for the x- and y- intercepts b. graph the intercept and the line insert back to the top
