Introductory Activity
Use butterfly puppet, Minnie Monarch, to read the book, ________________________, by                        to the children.
Introduce children to the larvae and the butterfly habitat.
 

Enabling Activity(ies)
Daily feed and water the larvae.
Color page of butterflies.
Make a model of a butterfly.
Share posters of different larvae, chrysalis, and butterflies that go together.
Do butterfly floor puzzles.
Make butterfly snack with bread, licorice, and colored cream cheese.
Pretend to be butterflies and drink nectar with cut straws.
Make pop-up books of life cycle.

Culminating Activity
Children perform life cycle of butterfly through drama.
Students click on larvae and correct chrysalis and butterfly show up.
