Getting Started
What does it mean to look through the artist' eyes? Perhaps it is a way of asking the viewer to seek meaning, or learn something about the artist style or maybe it's a way to learn about the history surrounding an artist time. Artist paint or photograph the people, places and events of their time. By studying an artist work, you too can gain an understanding of history and the people who made it.

The goal of this project is to create a multi-media biography about a visual artist.

Use the resources in your library, classroom, home and the Internet to collect information about your artist. Have fun as you look through the eyes of artist like: Monet Renoir, Rembrandt, Seurat and Doolittle!

Activities

Day 1
With your teacher and classmates explore  Internet sites such as: WebMuseum, and Metropolitan Museum of Art   Look at how the artist uses light, color, shapes, lines and texture to create realistic paintings or impressions of landscapes. Evaluate the artists' work. What about the painting do you like or dislike? Bookmark these sites for use with this project.
