Student Activities
I
Introductory Activity

Students will be able to log on and print out a Matching Page, that requires them to match the names of nine people with their pictures.  Then they will be required to print a Word Search that will familiarize the names of some of the nine people and some words that are associated with these same people.  This will continue to familiarize them with the people and their names and what they did.

 Enabling Activity(ies)

The students will be reading specific information from the web site about the Person of their Choice.  From this material they will be finding facts about the person's birth date, place of birth, family background, education, career choice, and what they did to make a difference.  They can also read any books or articles that they may find in the classroom or library on the person of their choice.  They will then be organizing their information into a written report.  This report will include the basic facts they learned and recorded on their Fact Sheet, as well as how the person made a difference.

Culminating Activity

The students will be preparing an oral report to give to the class using the information in their written report.  Their emphasis will be what the person did to make a difference, but will include other facts that will make the report informative and interesting.  They may also use pictures or other  visual materials that will help the other students in the classroom understand better what the person did to make a difference

Assessment
The Pre-Test is self administered and graded automatically.  The same test is used for the Post-Test.
