Brainstorm knowledge of wolves.
To focus students on subject, a picture of a wolf or wolves is put up on
the board. Students are asked what they know about wolves.
Their answers are categorized into food, family, or shelter. Each
student decides which category suits his/her knowledge nugget .
Students will read "Wolves" in Houghton-Mifflin
anthology.
Students will discuss role of wolves in
nature,
Students read an informational story "Wolf
Island", that illustrates what can happen to the balance of nature when
wolves disappear from nature.
Students write a wolf story, incorporating
some true facts about wolves
..
Culminating
Activity
Students will choose
an animal that they would like to research.They will useand write
own report.
Assessment

Results
