Introductory
Activity
Students will discuss what they already know about
the black plague which took place in Europe in the 14th through the 17th
centuries and take a pre-test.
Enabling
Activity(ies)
Students will partner read
page 310-312 in their seventh grade social studies textbook, Across
the Centuries, paying
special attention to the map on page 311, and tracing the path of the plague
through Europe. Each partner will also concentrate on conditions such as
famine and war which weakened the economy of Western Europe and were a
direct result of the black plague. Students will write a summary of the
information on these pages.
Culminating
Activity
In the computer lab, students will visit
the Insecta Inspecta World web site atww.insecta.com/about;index.html.
Students will answer questions on a worksheet as they work through this
site.
Assessment
Students will take a post
-test of multiple choice questions.
Result
After working through
textbook and web page lessons students will pass the post-test with at
least 80% mastery.
