Introduction
Insert a brief overview of your lesson plan. Remember teachers are your target audience on this page. You might want to edit this section after you have finished designing your lesson. At that time you'll have a better idea of your lesson plan highlights.

Subject: Earth Science
Topic: Wind & Water Erosion
Grade Level: 9th-12th
Student Lesson name and http://ctap295.ctaponline.org/~cpierson/student
Standards Addressed
List the California State Standards your lesson addresses. For example:
Ninth Grade
Science: Focus on Earth Science
Erosion and It's Effect on Our Lives

7. Each element on Earth moves among reservoirs, which exist in the solid earth, in oceans, in the atmosphere, and within and among organisms as part of biogeochemical cycles. As a basis for understanding this concept:  Students know the movement of matter among reservoirs is driven by Earth’s internal and external sources of energy.

9. The geology of California underlies the state’s wealth of natural resources as well as its natural hazards. As a basis for understanding this concept:

a. Students know the resources of major economic importance in California and their relation to California’s geology.

b. Students know the principal natural hazards in different California regions and the geologic basis of those hazards.

Instructional Objectives
Insert your learning objectives here. For example:
  1. The students will be able to analyze visually the way water, specifically waves erode and deposit.
  2. Students will understand the force that water is on the earth.
  3. Students will define terminology that is part of wave erosion.
  4. Students will be able to determine the process of wave building and wave erosion.

Student Activities
Pre-Test:  Students will take a pre-test over terminology and concepts of wind and wave erosion.  The pre-test is strictly for  baseline data and will be graded as completed only.
Introductory Activity
Students will go to Word List and be introduced to terminology that will be used throughout this section.  Students will be responsible for knowing these terms.

Culminating Activity
Students will take the chapter final on Wind and Wave Erosion.  This is a 25 point test that will be scored for points.
