Introduction
The students will research information on a foreign country and write a diary of an imaginary trip to that country.

    Subject: World History
             Topic: Research Paper
             Grade Level: 10

Instructional Objective
          For the country that the student has chosen, he/she will be able to:
  1. will utilize a variety of primary and secondary resources, including Internet sites in researching information about their country.
  2. locate their country on a world map and draw it in correct proportions
  3. determine 2 primary historical events or eras from recent history and show their importance
  4. describe their type of government and their current leader
  5. identify the major religions of their country
  6. estimate prices through learning the currency and how to incorporate the rate of exchange
  7. Students will be able to write, edit and revise their findings using correct grammar, spelling and punctuation.
  8. locate, copy and insert an image from the Internet onto their diary
  9. learn other information about their country

Student Activities

Introductory Activity
Through a Powerpoint  Presentation the students will be introduced to the project.

 Enabling Activity
The students will research information through the Internet in order to learn about their countries.  They will be provided with some links to help them.

 Culminating Activity
 Each student will write a 5 day diary about their trip to their country.  Each diary will consist of the required information assigned as well as  be a realistic account of what a trip would be  like.  Each student will be prepared to present the "highlight" of their trip to the class.
